Vicki McPhee is our Lead Minister for Programming, Education, Faith Formation, and Volunteerism.  Vicki started July 2011. We are so happy to have her energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge in our ministry!  Vicki recently returned from a exposure tour to Peru with the United Church of Canada to learn about human trafficking.  Her next adventure is a study trip to Israel.  Vicki@symonsvalleyuc.com

Rev. Sarah Fanning is in team with Vicki serving as our Lead Minister for Worship, Pastoral Care, and Congregational Growth.  Sarah has more than 12 years of ministry experience.  She and her family and relocated to Calgary from Milton Ontario in January.  Welcome Sarah!  Hear Sarah lead worship on Sunday's starting at 10:30 am! 

Daniel Sore is our Children’s Ministry Director, and is responsible for preparing and organizing the delivery of our Sunday School Curriculum.  Daniel has more than 2 years experience incorporating music, bible lessons, and lots of fun crafts and activities into Sunday School!   Daniel can be contacted at dansore@shaw.ca

Stacey Cropper staceybeth82@hotmail.com is our Youth Leader, together with the help of other Young Adults in our congregation.  Our Youth Program will get underway again in September 2011, so come check us out for some fun and cool programs! 

Music Staff      

 

Ann Crawford is our Music Director at Symons Valley United church, working to support a dynamic music program as one of the Core Values of our congregation.  Ann directs our adult choir called “Voices in Harmony”, as well as volunteering to direct our youth choir called the “Salt Shakers”.   She receives help from volunteers Kathy and Cindy to direct our pre-schooler’s choir called the “Church Mice”.   Each spring Ann directs a musical comedy play which runs for four performances in our sanctuary - which is tranformed into a dinner thatre setting.  If you are interested in finding out more about our various music programs available for adults or children, contact Ann at musicann@telusplanet.net

Donna Williams is our very talented Accompanist tickling the ivories of our grand piano each Sunday.  Donna is a professional musician who works together with our Music Director in the selection and preparation of music offered within the worship service.  Donna also volunteers as director of our primary/elementary aged children’s choir called the “Sunshine Smilers”.    Donna is also available to provide accompaniment or vocal solos for wedding services   Donna is available at ddwill@shaw.ca .

Support Staff   

 

Essie Gaqui-Elefante is our smiling Office Administrator that you will find in our church office Monday  through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m during the summer months.  Essie provides administrative support to our ministry staff, as well as managing the office and bookings, rentals and use of the space within our church building.  Need information on rates and/or space availability for an event at Symons Valley United Church?  Whether it is a wedding, or if you are looking for a performing space for the arts, contact Essie at Essie@symonsvalleyuc.com or by calling (403) 274-2361. 

Rick Martin is our in house Audio Visual Technician starting in the fall of 2010, coordinating sound, lighting and projection within our sanctuary space.  Rick also provides technical support for special events for conferences or the arts held within our performance oriented space.  If you have experience, or want to gain some experience by volunteering to assist with this technical craft of sound and lighting, Rick would love to hear from you at martin_rick@shaw.ca.  We would also like to thank Rick Stephenson for more than 2 years of service in this position.
